Crouton Explorer
A multi-chain explorer for Cosmos SDK networks: blocks, transactions, validators, governance and staking in one app.
Type
Participation in a project of Crouton Digital
My role
Frontend and design.
What it does
- Explore
- Blocks, transactions, validators, accounts and proposals for any chain the backend registers, mainnet or testnet, under routes like
/mainnets/celestia. - Live uptime
- Validator signing arrives over a WebSocket and is shown as block cards, with a signed-versus-total breakdown per block.
- Search
- A Tendermint RPC transaction search that turns raw ABCI events into readable fields, plus one global search across blocks, transactions, validators and addresses.
- Staking
- A rewards calculator, a commission and reward breakdown per validator, and a decentralization chart built from the Gini coefficient and Lorenz curve of stake.
My contribution
- Explorer pages
- Built the validator, account, block, transaction and proposal pages, with sortable tables, loading skeletons, copy-to-clipboard and a global search across all of them.
- Data layer
- Designed one generic hook factory that builds the URL, transforms the response and injects the selected network. About fifteen domain hooks reuse it.
- Live uptime
- Built the WebSocket client for a separate monitoring service, deduplicated events per validator, and the block cards with a signed-versus-total breakdown.
- Transactions
- Wrote the parsing that turns raw ABCI events from Tendermint RPC into readable sender, recipient, amount and fee fields.
- Staking
- Built the rewards calculator, the commission and reward breakdown per validator, and the decentralization chart based on the Gini coefficient and Lorenz curve of stake.

Status
In progress. The explorer pages, staking tools and live validator signing work. Wallet connection (Keplr, Ledger, MetaMask) exists as a demo and is not wired into the app yet, and the live feed is currently set up for one testnet.
